Monica Smith

Trusts and foundations manager 

Monica has been working as a charity fundraiser for the last 18 years. Prior to joining Fight for Sight, Monica worked at Variety, the children’s charity, as their trusts and legacies manager and at Gingerbread, as their trusts and grants Manager. She has also been a Trustee and Treasurer of Metro Blind Sport and is currently a Trustee of British Blind Sport.  
  
Monica, who is severely sight impaired is passionate about wanting to use her own lived experience to tackle the inequalities faced by the UK’s two million blind and vision impaired people. Apart from her children, her greatest achievement was representing GB internationally at the IBSA games in 2023 and winning a gold and silver medal in B1 tennis.
