Our People

Meet the team, trustees and advisory panels working to: "Save Sight. Change Lives."

Fight for Sight's vision is to "Save Sight. Change Lives." We fund breakthrough research and social change projects, putting change in sight. People are the lifeblood of our organisation.

Together, we are bold, tenacious, informed, optimistic.

Meet the team

Every member of our Community of Colleagues contributes to our vision to: "Save Sight. Change Lives." The people administrating grants, supporting our fundraisers, working with philanthropists, amplifying our messages across social and digital media channels, managing charity finances, looking after our supporters and more.

Our volunteers

We're fortunate to have people volunteering for us in many ways across our charity, from the trustees who sit on our Board to those volunteering across our preloved stores, donning aprons for bake sales, skydiving, running marathons or walking over hot coals in our firewalk.

Governance

As a charity, robust governance is vital to ensure we meet the high standards expected of the charity sector. As a funder, we invest in early-stage research and early-stage researchers across the research pathway and innovative social change projects to deliver long-term, sustainable change. Our governance balances innovation with de-risking our investments.

Board of Trustees

We're grateful to have a diverse board of trustees, people who generously volunteer their time and expertise. The Board meets at least quarterly to agree on our strategy and areas of activity.

That includes considering grant-making, fundraising, investments, reserves, risk management policies and performance.

Certain trustees also sit on the board's sub-committees.

We invest in scientific research and social change. The researchers we fund are delivering breakthroughs, and the people driving projects are innovating for change.

Our advisory committees support us in ensuring that our grant-making activities are fair, transparent, and guided by expert advice and knowledge.

Groups and family funds

We're also grateful to our groups and family funds, some of whom have supported us for several decades, raising money to Save Sight. Change Lives. They have devoted time organising bake sales, golf days, entering teams into marathons and other events. Many are raising funds for loved ones impacted by specific eye diseases.
