Medical Research Council / Fight for Sight Clinical Research Training Fellowship
This funding competition is held three times a year with applications invited from February, July and October.
- Open to clinically qualified professionals, active in the field of ophthalmology requiring registration for a research degree, usually a PhD.
- Funding for 100% justified costs for three years.
Award
Fight for Sight is pleased to offer the opportunity of a Clinical Research Training Fellowship jointly funded by Fight for Sight and the Medical Research Council (MRC).
Applications are invited for the Fellowship, which offers scientific training opportunities to a clinician wishing to pursue research to prevent sight loss and treat eye disease.
Three-year funding is available for registered healthcare professionals to undertake a PhD or to reacquire research skills. The scheme allows the applicant to spend up to six hours a week (pro-rated for part time fellows) on other commitments and undertake up to two clinical sessions a week.

The scheme is administered by the MRC, and applications are to be made via the new UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Funding Service.
